This is what made me who I am today. The only reason I am here in college is because, my brother went to college. I know what you think anyone’s brother can go to college. My brother encourage me and he didn’t know he always seemed so smart and had good jobs and has a lot of things that I want but without a degree theses days it hard to get a good job. I just always looked up to him like he was so smart and educated and I wanted to be just like my brother. Also, I know that he would always be there to help me on anything I need help on he always showed me how to do something if I didn’t understand it. My brother shaped me into the guy I am today by just setting a good example for me and show me you can accomplish anything with just hard work and time. I wonder what I would be doing now at this time if I didn’t go down this road to college and just did high school and that’s it. I think I choose the better route and it going to shape me into a greater person then I am at the moment as I progress the years in college. Even thinking to myself being in college everyday slowly but surely shapes me in to a successful person everyday. So to think only if my brother wasn’t a positive role model it wouldn’t have probably shaped me to who I am this moment this day.

My reading habits would be. I would not read everything I would sometimes skim thought the paragraphs. Instead I would read the first sentence and the last sentence in the paragraph. I would read a chapter are so then stop. Go do something else then come back to it. I read better when it quiet and I have plenty of time to read and trying to understand the story. Once in a blue moon I like to go on the roof and read my book. It’s really nice and peaceful. I do not have any strength as a reader. Only if I can relate to what I am reading then I can use my logic to figure out something that I do not know. And I can use context clues to figure it out, but not all the time. My mom loves to read she always reading these big long books really fast .I did not grow up being encourage to read well now that I think about it. I’m not that sure. I might have but I didn’t want to because reading wasn’t really what I like to do and I wanted to go do other things. I think my mom read to me but not that much I was really young and I didn’t remember but when I was reading a book and I didn’t understand what I was reading she would read it and help my understand what it was that I was reading and puts an image in my head to be more aware what it about.

The impact of studying the vocabulary words. Has been learning but yet confusing learning the new words. I hear the word when i am in my class and my other professor use them when they are explaining an assignment. When i come up to words i don't know i try to look at the sentence before and at the sentence after. I try to find the context clues within the sentence, but then if i still cant figure it out then i look it up in a dictionary. The definition in the dictionary can help me figure out the words meaning. Also if i really don't understand the meaning of the word i ask someone who may know the meaning of the word. and get feed back from them. I try to use some of the words in my everyday life, but it is very challenging at times. This is why because i sometimes don't fully understand the meaning our i don't want to use the word in the wrong way. Since i do not use the words all the time i don't remember them after the test i forget the word. cause there are so many new word that are be introduced to me. Most, of the word are hard to use in my everyday life but yet i try to use a word when i can. I should pick one word a day and try to use that word when i am with my friends. Our i could even be with anyone as long as i try to use one word maybe it will stick in my head after a long time .
